College Station Police Department Secures Warrant for Arrest

UPDATE – As a result of the investigative efforts made throughout the day, detectives with the College Station Police Department have been able to secure a warrant for the arrest of Stanley Lamar Griffin. Griffen was originally detained as a person of interest and held on a warrant for a violation of his parole. Detectives were able to obtain additional warrants for Griffen and he has been charged with the following offenses:
Murder (Sec. 19.02 PC) 1st Degree Felony
Injury to a Child with Serious Bodily Injury (Sec. 22.04 (a)(1)(e)) 1st Degree Felony

UPDATE – 1716 hours - At this time the College Station Police Department has a person of interest in custody related to this offense. More information regarding this investigation is forthcoming. We would like the public to know that our detectives and officers have worked continuously throughout the day to ensure their safety during this incident.
At approximately 0500 hours, officers with the College Station Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 2400 block of Perdernales in reference to a possible homicide. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased 29 year old female and an injured 9 year old male. The injured male was transported to the College Station Medical where he is undergoing surgery. At this time detectives are still in the preliminary stages of the investigation and more information will be released it becomes available.
