SAN BERNARDINO, CA- On Thursday, September 22, 2011 A team of local & regional officers from Union Bank met with community stakeholders at the Mardis Restaurant in downtown San Bernardino. The community ‘stakeholders’ included representatives from business; education; media; community organizations; clergy; and non-profit service-providers. Their message: ‘Union Bank is here, in the Inland Empire...in San Bernardino. Our business is banking; but our committment includes service to and in our communities. Among the bankers were Sharon Small-Kebede, Community Loan Officer, Chino HIlls, Rex Ramsey, CFP,Vice President, Sr. Financial AdvisorThe group answered questions and shared examples of community-based organizations that enabled a ‘micro-entrepreneur’ to get ‘start-up money or to provide alternatives in emergencies when low-income people felt forced to go to a hard money lender to seek help because they were trapped in debt.
