John Futch Announces Candidacy for Reelection to San Bernardino Community College Board of Trustees

On Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in a room of family, friends, as well as supporters, standing in front of potraits of Martin Luther King, Jr, Abraham Lincoln, and Cesar Chavez, John Futch celebrated his 61st birthday, and announced his candidacy for reelection to the San Bernardino Communitry College Board of Trustees. He told of early years of drifting through classes, collecting units and a declining grade-point average, before a community college professor helped him to find his way.

From his ‘new beginning’ it became easy to earn B.A. and Masters degrees, and pursue his subsequent career as an educator. Well-wishers included fellow San Bernardino Commuity College District Trustees, James Ramos, and Jess Vizcaino, and Attorney, Virginia Blumenthal, Trustee, Riverside Community College District International presence was reflected via Dr .James Makinde, President/Vice Chancellor, Babcock University, Nigeria, Christiana Egwahka, Babcock University Foundation; Cherie Russell, Riverside Community Hospital Foundation; and Barbara Babcock, who’se family was instumental in the founding of Babcock University. Also in attendance to support and congratulate him on his candidacy, were Mrs John Futch and family.
