You’re NEVER Too Old, You Can Take That To The Bank Ann E. Alexander travels by automobile 6000 miles by herself
By Jacquelyn Deloatch July 29, 2010 On Tuesday July 6, 2010, my mother Ann E. Alexander decided to make an almost 3,000 mile road trip from California to Virginia by herself to visit her eighty eight year old sister. This may not seem strange to you, but my mother is an eighty six year old diabetic. This is the reason I don’t like to hear people say what they can’t do. You can do whatever you set your mind to do. My mother is the mother of eight children. We stop counting the grand children and great grand children. My father passed at a very young age, he was in his early fifties when he died from Leukemia. My mother never remarried. But her life is far from dull. On the week ends you will find her working in the EZ Bail Bond Agency in Compton, CA with one of her granddaughters. Although she is a Registered Nurse and has been since 1992 she decided in 2001 to add a career. She got her Bail Bonds License at the age of seventy seven and started her own Bail Bond Agency the next year. My mother is also a Commissioned Notary Public and back in the day you would have found her in Hawthorne, California flying an airplane. Ann Alexander is an example that you never get too old to enjoy your life. Take a lesson from her and go somewhere you always wanted to and do something you always wanted to do. Go back to school, take a road trip or just start a new career. But whatever you do, enjoy your life. Submitted by: Jacquelyn Deloatch.
